With the HSBC City Ride taking place in Coventry today and having spent a great day in the city centre, I thought a blog to show off the event would be appropriate, even though the images aren’t along the lines of my usual style.
There was definitely a buzz in the air in both the Broadgate and Millennium Place hubs before the course was officially opened at 11am.
With the start line on High Street, alongside the Council house, I started my day in Broadgate where I was able to collect my green bib that I was able to get personalised, which was a nice touch. Event staff were also giving out horns, handle bar streamers and bike spoke beads which was great for the kids taking part. You could also get a pre-ride bike check from the Halfords team.
Millennium Place had numerous activities to take part in including a pop-up Street Velodrome, a makeshift off road track, mix-your-own smoothie along with others.
After taking in the sights of our fair city whilst cycling around the ring road I took the opportunity to have a look in Coventry Transport Museum which allowed me to get some images of the great selection of bikes from through the ages they have on display.
All in all I had a fantastic day and think a huge congratulations is needed for the work that was put into the event. Here’s hoping for a bigger and better HSBC City Ride in Coventry next year. #LetsRide
