Goodbye Priory Halls

Coventry is seeing a massive increase in city centre student accommodation due to the ever expanding Coventry University, and with this we say a sad farewell to the Priory Halls towerblock.

Standing at 64m tall, it’s post-war brutalist style has sat proudly next to  Coventry Cathedral since around 1966 when it was originally constructed alongside it’s smaller sibling which was demolished earlier this year.

The tower block is now clad in scaffolding whilst the building is deconstructed from the top down with the use of mini diggers.

Once the building has been removed the University will landscape the area while a long-term plan is put together.
